 Great Falls Virginia is located near DC along the potomac river in Fairfax VA which has awesome views. A place where you don't want to miss if you enjoy the outdoors in your travels . While listening to the power of water to hear it roar is the most relaxing when its calm however after talking to others the force of nature after a rainstorm would flood the falls to no where to be seen with great volume of water to possibly flood the land above. 

Great falls offers rock climbing , kyaking, horse back riding with (your own horse ) on selected trails. They do have a snack bar and restrooms located at the main building not to far from the overlooks. However this place fills up fast on the weekends so its best to get there early . Parking is 20.00 on some days its free you can purchase a pass to get to both sides visiting MD and VA for 35.00 for a year. 

Overlooks

• Over look 3 has a ramp for handicap individuals which its great to walk on level ground to see the falls . 
• Over look 1 is a rocky trail with boulders and rock to climb up on.
• Overlook 2 is the awesome spot for the great views and photography.  

Trails

• Trails are rocky heading  down the river along the bank with cliffs and trails to go down .  
• (Lots of rock climbing along the banks with cliffs ) 

      

If your climbing down to see this view in the video above you want to becarful going down in case of any loose rock. If you do decide to go down its a steep drop best to have some one with you and watch your step.
